Hello everyone!
It’s hard to believe that the 50th anniversary alumni weekend is less than two weeks away. Tess McLean and I, along with many volunteers, have spent the past few years meeting regularly and making plans for the upcoming reunion. Our goal was to offer a range of activities to suit a variety of interests.
We know that seeing past classmates and teachers is the top priority for many, so there is lots of time in the schedule to walk around the beautiful new facilities, look at the archival displays, and reminisce with your friends.
If you want to stop talking for a while, there is a film festival as well as panel discussions, where you can hear from alumni and current students. Of course, class photos will be taken and there will be tours of the Celia Franca Centre and the new residence (a far cry from 410 Jarvis Street, for those who lived there!).
Saturday night promises to be a fun-filled party complete with a DJ and the results of the day-long silent auction. Don’t forget to check out the auction items and to place your bids—all proceeds will go to the alumni archives project. Another way that you can contribute to the NBS archives is by visiting the Speakers Corner and sharing some of your memories of the School. You can do this as an individual, or even as a small group.
On Sunday, there will be classes in the morning, followed by the closing ceremonies. The Tribute to Bev Miller will then take place in Currie Hall (111 Maitland Street) at 2:30 pm.
I’m looking forward to catching up with many of you and I hope that you have a fantastic time.
See you soon!

Happy Anniversary Weekend!
Wow – hard to believe it’s finally here – but the proof is in – Molly Schelhorn arrived last night and is upstairs as I type this! So —-let the party begin!
So back awhile ago, I had a checklist of things to do for this weekend; it goes something like this:
Lose 10 lbs: status – nope
Get back in shape: status – not so much
Find butt-lifting jeans: status – not found
Find as many NBS friends as possible: status – mission virtually accomplished! While a few classmates and old friends have yet to be connected with, planning for this reunion has really brought together so many of us I am absolutely thrilled! My ‘era’ – the late 70s has been meeting and catching up on facebook for months now – mega credit to Denise, kathleen, Frances and everyone I’m a fb friend with now!
So, as I said, let’s get this party started! Molly and I are off to the School to watch some classes this morning – NBS look out cuz here we come!
Love to all — SEE YOU SOON!
Tess.
